The Prairie Centre, through a cooperative arrangement with the data libraries at
the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Alberta, is providing
password-protected Internet access to a number of customized tabulations from the 1991
Census. These tabulations have been made available by Statistics Canada and Canadian
Heritage for restricted use by Metropolis affiliated researchers.
The tables in this collection are not available in print, but rather only in a
proprietary software format that requires the installation of a data browser by Ivation
Datasystems. This data browser, called Beyond 20/20, is available to Metropolis
affiliated researchers (free of charge), through their home institutions membership
in Statistics Canadas Data Liberation Initiative (DLI).
How
do I access these tables?
From the PCERII web site (http://pcerii.metropolis.net/),
researchers can explore the list of table titles that are available for downloading. The
titles may be searched alphabetically by title or using keywords appearing in the titles.
It should be noted that although browsing and searching the title list is not restricted,
downloading or viewing a table requires a password. Browse TABLES
